I lost power and when it came back, I tried to log into my HP 8710 but I couldn't get it to connect to my MAC where it started. Apparently, my former IT Consultant put some code in so I can't go back to Factory Reset. Says, "administrator locked this device". I have no idea what the access is. I saw another post with a response from an HP rep and the HP rep said they would send a private DM because it's highly confidential on how to remove the "admin" control of the device. HP rep, please respond with guidance

Hi @2Gofast,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To remove the administrative lock on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, you typically need to perform a partial reset or semi-full reset, depending on the model. Here's a general guide on how to attempt this.
Partial Reset: This resets the printer to its default settings without erasing all user data.
- Turn on your printer.
- Locate the power button on the printer and unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn on the printer if it does not turn on automatically.
Semi-Full Reset: This option may be necessary if the partial reset doesn’t work.
- Turn on your printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer if it does not turn on automatically.
Network and Settings Reset: If the above resets don't work and you're still unable to access the printer settings, try resetting the network settings:
- On the printer control panel, touch or press the "Wireless" icon or open the Wireless menu.
- Find and select the "Restore Network Defaults" or "Restore Network Settings" option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, or if your printer is managed by a network administrator or has additional security settings enabled.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4, After doing the suggested steps to try to change the settings my 8710 Pro still result in a message that the printer was locked by the administrator or person who set up the 8710. I do not have access to that administrator any longer. Is there another method that you are aware of?
