Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I would believe that, except I have two identical laptops identically configured with software. The TMP00's in the name appear only in one. And the printer properties in CtrlPanel look the same -- there is way to change the name.

This does not make sense.

As I have mentioned before, there is no driver available on the HP Support site, hence the driver(old) you are using is not supported anymore.

Also, we have tried all the possible steps.

If you need assistance via a remote session with an HP technician, you will have to pay the support fee.

There is no other step to be performed. If you are able to print, continue using it and ignore the printer name.

If you are not able to print, you will have to upgrade.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

There is no need to repeat that again and again -- I understand.

That is the reason I came to the community  in the hope that somebody understands/has experienced the problem and might know how to solve it.

Instead, I get ONE HP employee who keeps telling me there is nothing to do.

I have a different notion of what a community means.

I'm sorry you feel that way. However, that is the fact according to my knowledge. You may wait for a response from another community member/expert as you are not satisfied with my answer.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

You have given the official answer of a HP support employee -- you did what you could in that capacity.

Precisely because the printer is out of warranty and the driver is no longer supported I came to the community

in the hope that either a support staff OR ANOTHER USER might have ideas.

So it's not that I am dissatisfied with your help, I was hoping that another user ran into the same problem and figured out a solution. Unfortunately, not.
