Hi there, have a Neverstop 1000a connected to Windows 10 PC, with static ip on it.
Printer works fine as usb connected, after system boot is visible on my mac and iphone 11 pro
Time goes like 10-15 minutes - its gone!
Tried FW update using HP program, Tried to download win10 drivers program from HP, and installed in to system using that, not the windows 10 found default drivers.
After second step -it appeared and bang, gone again
What could be the issue?

@Denveronly, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand the printer does not wake up from sleep mode when you try printing or press any button on the printer.
Check after how long does the printer enters sleep mode.
Sleep mode automatically puts the printer into a lower-power state after a set period of time of non-use. The printer returns to its normal power state when you send another print or scan job.
A printer in sleep mode might display some of the following characteristics:
-
The control panel display is dark
-
The power light is slowly pulsing
-
The power light is dim
If there are no lights on the printer, Auto-Off, sometimes called Power Save Mode, turns the printer completely off after a set period of time (usually two hours). You must press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC/Mac
- Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
- Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.
Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,
Indeed i see that after the lights fade down on the printer it goes asleep after system boot, and after that the printer is not available for bonjour.
When i press the On button it goes to active mode, lights go on, it is seen after a minute in Mac and iPhone.
I don't see any printer setting regarding powersaving options in printer settings.
The Pc (where hp printer is connected) power settings are set to maximum performance and never turn anything off (hdds, usb, etc)
So now if i need to print from mac, i should go the printer, push the on button, wait 2 minutes untill its fully on and get that printed page.
Its kinda annoying, and i don't know what to do with that.
Also when i get the document printed and do nothing, it stays active task for 7-10 minutes, trying to find that printer, and wow - it gets printed. what the.. question is it
Maybe you can share with me some other drivers?
rebooting router, mac, pc, iphone doesn't give anything. And i think it is not Mac or iPhone, its PC driver issue
Also have to say that i have an HP 5221dn A3 format printer in the network, and it works flawlessly using bonjour.

Sleep mode cannot be disabled, although on some printers you can change the inactive time before the printer enters sleep mode.
You may access the EWS page of the printer and change the setting as required.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Resume button for 3 seconds.
A Configuration Report prints. Use the IP address of the printer in the address bar of your browser.
Go to Systems Tab > Energy settings
For more info, refer to page 20 of the User Guide
Let me know how it goes.

You may use the HP Smart app to access the printer's EWS page
Refer to this document - Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Let me know how it goes.

I am unable to use HP Smart on PC, because it hangs the app when i add the 1000a printer (no problem when adding 5225 hp priter tho)
I connected 1000a printer to my Mac, and have same issue of not working Airprint (dont see the printer on my iPhone) so that not a windows problem
Also i got in to HP Smart app on my mac, but the bad thing is that im unable to change anything there(i can change but when i hit Apply it is not saving changes)
Man, it is so unfair. I never had any printer problems ever

Well but even if i could change 1 minute to 4 hours, when i get to work in the morning, the printer would be in not accesible mode. Is that supposed to be so?
