Hi @Marilar57,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your Samsung S23 Ultra 5G to your HP ENVY 6455e printer. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue:
1. Ensure Both Devices are on the Same Network:
- Make sure your Samsung S23 Ultra 5G and the HP ENVY 6455e printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices connected to different networks (e.g., one on a 5GHz network and the other on a 2.4GHz network) can cause connectivity issues.
2. Install the HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store on your Samsung S23 Ultra.
- Open the app and sign in or create an account if needed.
3. Enable Bluetooth and Location Services:
- Ensure that Bluetooth and Location Services are enabled on your phone, as these may be required for the app to detect the printer.
4. Add the Printer in the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app and tap on the plus sign (+) to add a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network and add it to the app.
5. Check Printer's Wi-Fi Connection:
- Make sure your HP ENVY 6455e printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this by checking the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.
- If the printer is not connected, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until it starts blinking, then press the WPS button on your router to reconnect it.
6. Restart Devices:
- Restart both your Samsung S23 Ultra 5G and your HP ENVY 6455e printer to refresh their network connections.
7. Update Firmware and App: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check this in the HP Smart app or the printer's settings menu.
- Also, ensure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version.
8. Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- If the above steps don’t work, you can try resetting the network settings on the printer.
- To do this, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer's control panel simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will reset the network settings.
9. Re-add Printer:
- After resetting the network settings, open the HP Smart app and go through the steps to add a new printer again.
10. Try Wi-Fi Direct Printing:
- If you’re still having trouble, you can use Wi-Fi Direct to connect your phone directly to the printer without needing a Wi-Fi network.
- On the printer, press the Wi-Fi Direct button to enable it.
- On your phone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and select the printer's Wi-Fi Direct name (it should start with "DIRECT-HP").
- Follow any prompts to complete the connection.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
