HP8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I finally got my Router to connect to my 8610 on ethernet. The wireless is off but the printer is seen on my network. So when I go to Add A Printer in Windows a request for a PIN pops up. It's not on the panel of the printer and if it's in wifi protected setup I can't access it because I'm connected via hard wire to the router right next to the printer. You cannot access wifi settings with this setup. I'm afraid if I pull the wire I'll lose my printer on the network and it took days to get it recognized. Now I can't install the printer on my Windows 10 wireless laptops which was the entire point. HP won't let me add a printer to my wireless devices. What's the answer to this?

@Jim_Dish

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you share the screen where it's asking for the Pin?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
