Thank you very much!
It seems you are right. I have to print via the USB connection as per my last laptop which was not Bluetooth capable. It prints perfectly as usual.
But now the Scanner does not respond. I always used to scan a document by right-clicking on the document which used to give you the option to "scan via Hewlett-Packard F2280". I have also tried to scan by pressing the Scan button on the HP device, again no response.
Do you have any explanation? I should try the link that you kindly gave me.
Regards.
BTW - great moniker...Dragon Fur...

You are welcome.

HP Scan is part of the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

HP Deskjet F2200/F2224 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver

The printer software is older - last released in 2014.

That said, it might still be compatible with the latest versions of Windows 10.

If the software is already loaded

Check Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

then

If it is not working as expected,

Consider

Preparation / Information

Create Restore Point (Optional)

Before making any changes to your system, always create a Restore Point!

Stop / Exit all programs:  Browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection

Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point

OR

(As available)

Create a restore point now for the drives that have system protection turned on

Create

Apply or OK to exit the menu after the Restore Point is complete.

Windows Updates

Before you install / reinstall printer software, do check and run Windows Updates

Settings > Update and Security > Windows Updates

If you install any Windows Updates: After the update is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

NOTE:  If an update is already pending, install that update > Restart the computer and log in

Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features

Restart the computer and log in

===========================================================================

Next

  • If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation.  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).

Download and save the printer software installation package.

Next

  • Navigate to the folder in which you saved the software installation package (likely Downloads)
  • Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
  • Reminder:  If using USB > Connect the USB cable when instructed (toward the end of the installation)
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Printer Software Check

Notes

If the full driver printer software is (already) installed, you will see the printer listed in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features.

In addition, the installed software places two shortcut icons on the Desktop.

The Printer Assistant is named for the printer and provides access to Print , Scan , and Tools

HP Scan is named for itself and provides a direct call to the HP Scan software.

Honestly, I don't know whether / if the Scan option will work from the printer.

Hopefully, you will be able to scan from the computer using HP Scan.

What else?

Not sure (there is so much I don't know about a USB only printer...)

You might be able to use one or more of the following scan options...

HP Scan and Capture

Microsoft Store (formally Windows Store) - Requires Windows 8 or higher

Download-Save-Install   HP Scan and Capture

 Description

HP Scan and Capture is a simple and fun application that captures photos or documents from any* HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications.

* NOTE:  The correct HP drivers for your scanner must be installed from HP's Support Website.

Click Start (windows key) > Open the All Apps List > scroll the list

Open Category HP

Find and open the HP Scan and Capture application

Optional

Right-Click on the application and PIN to Start

What else?

Application controls / options

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Scroll / Search for HP Scan and Capture

Left-click on the App for options associated with this app.

If available, Click Advanced for additional controls.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

HP Scan Extended

  • Download-Save-Install

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Extra NOTE

If it is compatible with your printer and printer software,

HP Scan Extended provides some nice features that might not be found in HP Scan.

It is necessary that the full driver software be installed and functional before loading HPSE.

  • HPSE is a subset an older Full Feature Software suite.
  • HPSE features are very similar to the HP Scan Software released after 2015.
  • Although HPSE appears to be a separate software, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the Full Feature Software (full driver).  The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing and using HPSE.
    • OPTIONAL:  Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
      • Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
      • Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Taskbar
      • Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Send to Desktop (Create a Shortcut)
      • Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Start

  • HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary).  Might include OCR (Save as Editable Text).

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

NAPS2 – “Not Another PDF Scanner” (Free – Donations gladly accepted by the NAPS2 organization)

  • Download-Save-Install >  NAPS2
  • Not another PDF Scanner – free program scans PDF files and image(s) as .jpeg or PDF file(s).
  • Not always simple “Plug and Play”, nonetheless, this free software is powerful and configurable.
