I have read the old post "Need Windows 10 driver for HP Photosmart 8450" and watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzg8sPVb1_0 on setting up my printer on my LAN.  The video showed how to find the IP address of my printer using the command prompt command "arp -a".  Problem was, the printer did now show up in the resulting list of IP addresses.  But, I was able to find the printer's address by using the printer's menu:  Tools-Network-Display Summary. I was then able to complete the steps in this otherwise excellent tutorial. 

But I do have a question:  When I got to the point where Windows downloaded additional drivers, I wasn't sure which substitute would work best for the 8450. I ended up choosing HP Photosmart 7960, and it does seem to work. Is there another model driver which would work better?  (My cartridges are years old and dried out, so the test page was black, but by the sound of it the printer was "printing" it properly).
