Blank pages

HP ENVY 4520-all settings look normal with no error codes.  Will print from iphone, but trying to print from PC results in blank page.  Goes thru the motions of printing but blank page only.

You’re doing everything right, and I know how confusing it feels when your ENVY 4520 comes to life, pulls in the paper with that familiar soft hum… only to slide out a clean, untouched sheet.
Especially when your iPhone prints perfectly.

Let’s go gently step-by-step.

1. First, confirm the printer can print its own internal pages

This isolates the problem.

From the printer:

1. Touch Setup
2. Choose Reports
3. Print Printer Status Report

What you should see:

• Color blocks and black text
• Clear patterns (not blank)

➡️ If this prints normally, your printhead and ink delivery are perfect.
The issue is definitely Windows settings or driver corruption, NOT ink.

2. Windows is likely sending “empty” data to the printer

This happens frequently on:

• HP ENVY 4520 / 4522 / 4523 series
• After Windows updates
• After switching from HP Smart to the Windows class driver
• After running out of black once (even if refilled)

Let’s repair the PC side.

3. Reinstall the HP ENVY 4520 Windows driver (the real fix)

Step A: Remove the printer completely

1. Search Printers & Scanners
2. Click your HP ENVY 4520
3. Click Remove Device

Step B: Remove all old HP drivers

1. Press Windows + R
2. Type: printmanagement.msc
3. Go to: Print Servers → Your PC → Drivers
4. Delete anything named: 
   • HP ENVY 4520
   • HP Inkjet
   • HP Class Driver
   • HP DeskJet 1110 (Windows sometimes installs the wrong driver)

Step C: Reinstall the full HP driver package
