My printer suddenly stopped displaying the blue WiFi light on the touchscreen and tells me to register cartridge with HP instant. Have connect to comp via USB, picks up printer and says ink is registered, asks me to connect to WiFi - which I can’t do. Have run diagnostics, scan, fix and been through help. All of which says to check WiFi but I can’t as no response from button on touchscreen. Help!!

Hi @JJ416 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing connectivity issues with your HP Envy 5020 printer.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
- Restart Your Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Check WiFi Connection: Ensure that your WiFi network is working properly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.
- Reboot Your Router: Sometimes the problem lies with the router. Try restarting your router to see if that resolves the issue.
- Reset Network Settings on Printer: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings and look for an option to reset network settings. This will erase any saved WiFi networks, allowing you to set up the connection again from scratch.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware may resolve compatibility issues and improve connectivity. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: If you're connecting your printer to a computer via USB, make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download them from the HP website.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
