Hi @danahile78,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the blue light on your HP printer is flashing and you're having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, here are some steps to help troubleshoot the issue:

1. Confirm Wi-Fi Credentials:

  • Double-check that you’re entering the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

2. Restart Your Printer and Router:

  • Power off both your printer and Wi-Fi router. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on. This can help reset the connection.

3. Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Network or Wireless settings and select the option to connect to a new network. Follow the prompts to enter your Wi-Fi information.

4. Check for Wireless Interference:

  • Ensure the printer is within range of the router and there are no obstacles (like walls or large furniture) that might interfere with the signal.

5. Disable VPNs or Firewalls:

  • If you have a VPN or firewall enabled on your network, try disabling it temporarily to see if it affects the printer's connection.

6. Check Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can do this using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website for firmware updates.

7. Print Network Configuration Page:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to verify the connection status and IP address. This can help diagnose any connectivity issues.

8. Reset Network Settings:

  • If you still can’t connect, consider resetting the printer’s network settings to factory defaults. This option is usually found in the printer’s menu under Network Settings.

9. Connect Using WPS (if supported):

  • If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can connect the printer by pressing the WPS button on your router and then selecting the WPS option on your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
