HI @Allyson1711,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Bluetooth connection is lost, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Bluetooth Status
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and toggle Bluetooth on.
2. Reconnect the Device
- In the same Bluetooth settings menu, check if your device is listed. If it is, try removing it and reconnecting:
- Select the device and click Remove device.
- Then, re-add the device by selecting Add Bluetooth or other device.
3. Restart Bluetooth Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Bluetooth Support Service, right-click, and select Restart.
4. Update Bluetooth Drivers
- Open Device Manager (right-click Start and select Device Manager).
- Expand Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
5. Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Bluetooth and run the troubleshooter.
6. Check Power Management Settings
- In Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
7. Restart Your Devices
- Restart both your laptop and the Bluetooth device you’re trying to connect.
8. Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.
9. Reset Bluetooth Settings
- If all else fails, consider resetting Bluetooth settings:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode and toggle it on, then off again.
10. Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers
- In Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop to reinstall the driver automatically.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
