Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Sending any print request from my MAC over my WiFi network link results in failure of the printer to respond.  It's a brand new printer,  and is set up successfully on the same WiFi channel as my MAC but I have yet to get it to print anything.

Hi @sowtondevil,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your brand-new printer is not responding to print requests from your Mac over a WiFi network. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the WiFi network. You can usually find this information on the printer's control panel or through its settings menu.

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your Mac is connected to the same WiFi network as the printer. Sometimes devices can connect to different networks (e.g., a guest network).

Printer Status:

  • Check if the printer is online and not in an error state. Make sure it's not displaying any errors on its control panel.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your Mac. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Update Printer Software:

  • Make sure the printer drivers and software on your Mac are up to date. You can do this by running the Software Update on your Mac or visiting the printer Official HP® Support to download the latest drivers.

Add Printer Again:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and try removing the printer and then adding it again. Click the + button to add the printer. Ensure you select the correct printer from the list.

Check Firewall Settings:

  • Sometimes firewall settings can block the printer. Ensure that your firewall settings allow communication with the printer.

Test with a USB Cable:

  • If possible, try connecting the printer to your Mac using a USB cable to determine if the issue is with the network connection.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
