I have a printer, HP ColorLaserJet MFP M283fdw. I've hardly used it but it's out of warranty. The black scanner/automatic feeder plastic lid hinge (has 2 springs in it) broke and and won't stay in place.. It made a loud crack when opening the lid to copy a document. I think a tiny piece of plastic broke off. I'm 80 years old and can't really see it well. Is there a replacement part or some place that will repair the printer? I feel like it's still new. It was a Christmas gift that stayed the box until I could take my Epson 2760 to our cottage. It was really out of warranty before I even set it up. I really like this printer, but I have no idea where or how to get it repaired. It seems a shame to throw away a printer because of a tiny break in the plastic. Plastic always breaks. Please advise. Thanks!

Thanks, Valsimot! I think the part that a tiny piece of plastic that broke off of is the the part attached to the lid that holds the part you linked to on EBay. The printer was purchased at Office Max, neither Office Max not HP can repair the printer. The piece you linked to fits into the piece on the lid.
