Hi, I wonder if someone knows why I can perfectly print remotely (HP ENVY Inspire 7920e) from my iPhone, but I'm unable to do so from my HP laptop.
Both devices are sharing the same WiFi net. On my iPhone, the printer is ready and available through the HP Smart app, but on my laptop, even though I open HP Smart as well, printer is unavailble and offline.
BTW, I'm currently 600kms away from the printer so I can't just go and restart it...

@LDR-I, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're able to print remotely from your iPhone using the HP ENVY Inspire 7920e, but not from your Windows 11 HP laptop, even though both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Since you're currently 600 km away from the printer, let's focus on remote troubleshooting steps.
The issue seems to be related to HP Smart app configuration or HP+ cloud printing setup on your laptop. Your iPhone is likely using HP Smart Cloud Printing, while your laptop may not be properly signed in or connected to the same HP account.
Steps to Resolve:
Ensure HP Smart is Installed and Updated
- Download or update HP Smart for Windows from the Microsoft Store: HP Smart
Sign in with the Same HP Account
- Open HP Smart on your laptop.
- Sign in using the same HP account you used on your iPhone.
- This is essential for accessing the printer remotely via HP Smart Cloud.
Enable Web Services on the Printer
- Since you're remote, verify that Web Services were enabled during setup. This is required for HP Smart Cloud printing.
- If it worked from your iPhone, it's likely already enabled.
Add the Printer via HP Smart Cloud
- In HP Smart on your laptop:
- Click “Add Printer”
- Select “Add a printer using HP Smart Cloud”
- Your printer should appear if it's online and connected to the internet.
Check Printer Status
- If the printer shows as offline, it may be:
- Turned off or in sleep mode.
- Disconnected from Wi-Fi.
- Experiencing a network issue at the remote location.
You can ask someone near the printer to:
- Ensure it’s powered on.
- Check Wi-Fi is working.
- Restart the printer if needed.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!

Thank you @Max3Aj, I feel so dumb, I hadn't thought I had to log into my account (as in my iPhone I log in automatically), I just didn't became aware I had to do so as well with the laptop. Real brickbrain. Thank you so much for your help and thorough answer!!!
