Hi @Ftinalli0921,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer's connectivity!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Everything
- Turn off your printer, WiFi router, and computer/phone.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
Check WiFi Connection
- Ensure your printer and computer/phone are on the same WiFi network.
- The printer does not support 5GHz networks—connect to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
Connect Using the Printer's Control Panel
- Press the WiFi Button (🔵) on the printer.
- Press & hold the WPS button on your router for 5-10 seconds (if available).
- Wait for the WiFi light to stop blinking—it means it's connected.
Manually Connect via Printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Print a Configuration Page:
- Press and hold the WiFi button until the light starts blinking.
- Wait for a network report to print.
- Find the printer’s IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.xxx).
Open a Web Browser:
- Type the printer’s IP address in the address bar.
- Press Enter to open the printer’s settings page.
Connect to WiFi:
- Go to Networking → Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your WiFi network and enter the password.
- Save and restart the printer.
Add the Printer Manually in HP Smart
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.
- Click Add Printer → Select Set up a new printer.
- If the printer doesn’t show up, click "Set up manually using IP Address".
- Enter the IP Address from the Configuration Page.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer
If nothing works, reset the network settings and try again:
- Press and hold the WiFi button (🔵) and Cancel (❌) button for 5-10 seconds.
- The printer will restart and reset WiFi settings.
- Try connecting again via HP Smart or manually.
Update Firmware
- Go to HP Support.
- Enter LaserJet Pro 3001dw.
- Download and install the latest firmware update.
Still Not Working?
- Try using an Ethernet cable to connect the printer to the router, then set up WiFi from the HP Smart app.
