We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

LaserJet Pro MFP M29w
Chrome OS

My Chromebook can see the printer on wifi connection and register it, but when I go to print, it always says "Can't connect to printer" in red with a red circle on the printer symbol in the print menu. When I hook up a USB cable between the two, it registers fine and has a green circle instead, but shows up as a different printer option, while the wireless option still reads the same. I would like to be able to use the wireless option as we will soon have several laptops and a desktop all using the same printer.

I have a similar issue. MY Samsung laptop has been connecting to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 for weeks now, but just the past couple of days, I cannot send print jobs over the wireless network to the printer. "Printer cannot be contacted over the network." Help would be appreciated!

Hi,

An Laserjet Pro M29w printer is not natively supported on Chrome using IPP, but can be used with HPLIP as described below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2059279-1992970-16

Please check below 3rd party link for detailed information about enabling HPLIP non ChromeOS:

Apparently my Chromebook doesn't support Linux. So looks like my printer is a sack of bunk to me then eh?
