Common problems for Connectivity Issues

I've added a new printer 4222e to my PC via wifi and can print with my PC  however I can't see this printer with the HP smart  app so I can't add it.

To resolve the issue of not being able to see your HP printer in the HP Smart app, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

Re-check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that both your printer and your PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If they are on different networks or a guest network, the HP Smart app may not be able to detect the printer.

Ensure Printer is Compatible:

  • Check if your printer model, the HP 4222e, is compatible with the HP Smart app by visiting the HP website or the printer's documentation.

Update the HP Smart App:

  • Make sure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your PC. Updating the app can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, PC, and the Wi-Fi router. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Enable Wi-Fi Direct:

  • Verify if Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on your printer. This setting can mostly be found in the printer settings menu.

Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app on your PC. This can help clear any cache or settings that might be causing issues.

Add Printer via IP Address:

  • You may try to manually add your printer using its IP address in the HP Smart app.
