Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

To troubleshoot the connectivity issue between your HP ENVY 6455e printer and your laptop, follow these steps.

 

Check Printer and Network Status

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and the wireless light is solid blue.
  2. Check the printer's network connection by printing a network configuration page:
    • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button until all the buttons light up.
    • Press the Information button and the Resume button simultaneously to print the network configuration page.
    • Verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Ensure Laptop is Connected to the Same Network

  1. Check your laptop's Wi-Fi connection and ensure it is connected to the same network as the printer.

Restart Devices

  1. Restart your printer, laptop, and Wi-Fi router:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Restart your laptop.
    • Turn off your Wi-Fi router, wait for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Reinstall Printer Software

  1. Remove the existing printer software from your laptop:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Select your printer and click Remove device.
  2. Download and install the latest printer software from the HP Support website:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for "HP ENVY 6455e".
    • Download the latest driver and software package for your operating system.
    • Follow the installation instructions to set up the printer.

Use HP Smart App

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP website.
  2. Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an HP account if prompted.
  3. Add your printer:
    • Click the plus sign (+) or Add Printer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to the HP Smart app.

Check Wireless Settings

  1. Ensure your router's wireless settings are compatible with your printer:
    • Check that the Wi-Fi network is not using a 5 GHz band only (the printer supports 2.4 GHz networks).
    • Verify that MAC address filtering is not enabled, or if it is, ensure the printer's MAC address is allowed.

Update Printer Firmware

  1. Update the printer firmware if an update is available:
    • Open the HP Smart app and select your printer.
    • Go to Printer Settings and check for firmware updates.

 

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider performing a factory reset on the printer and then re-attempting the setup.
