I have a deskjet 2632, it was connected to WiFi and printing fine. I now have a new WiFi provider but can’t seem to swap the printer over. It’s still connected to the old one and I don’t know how to make it swap!
When I try to set it up as a new printer through hp smart app, the app can’t find the printer?!
The printer doesn’t have a screen where you can access settings so it all has to be done via app

Hi @Lucy103,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
To fix the issue with your HP DeskJet 2632 not connecting to your new Wi-Fi network, you’ll need to reset the printer’s network settings and then set it up again via the HP Smart app. Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1: Restore Network Settings on the Printer
This puts the printer back into Wi-Fi setup mode so the HP Smart app can find it.
👉 To Restore Network Settings:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) and the Cancel button (❌) together for 5 seconds, then release.
- The Power light will blink, and the Wireless light will start blinking — this means it’s ready for setup.
Step 2: Reinstall the HP Smart App
Sometimes cached settings cause connection issues.
- On your phone or computer, uninstall the HP Smart app.
- Restart your device.
- Reinstall HP Smart from HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store.
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account if prompted.
Step 3: Add the Printer Again
Make sure your phone is connected to the new Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz only — this model doesn’t support 5GHz).
- Open HP Smart.
- Tap “+ Add Printer” or “Set Up a New Printer.”
- The app should detect the DeskJet 2632 (look for something like HP-Setup-2632).
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
