Hi @Deelovely123

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out — I understand how frustrating it is when a new printer won’t connect to Wi-Fi. Let’s walk through a few steps that should help get your HP DeskJet 2810e online:

1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

This puts the printer back into pairing mode:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons together for 5 seconds.
  • Wait until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking blue — this means it’s ready to connect.

You’ll need to complete the setup within 2 hours of entering this mode.

2. Use the HP Smart App

  • Download the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Open the app and click Add Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Make sure your device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — this model doesn’t support 5 GHz.

If you are not sure of this, please check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

3. Check Network Settings

  • Avoid guest or public networks.
  • Temporarily disable any VPNs or firewalls during setup.
  • Ensure your router uses WPA or WPA2 security (not WEP or open networks).

4. Restart All Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer or phone.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then turn everything back on.
  • Retry the setup using the HP Smart app.

If the printer still won’t connect, let me know whether you’re seeing any error codes or blinking lights, and I’ll guide you further. You're not alone in this — we’ll get it sorted.
