@Lokesh51, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting your HP Smart Tank 581 printer to your laptop. Let's try to troubleshoot this issue together. Here are some steps you can follow:
Check the Connection Type
Wi-Fi Connection?
- Make sure both your laptop and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart your router, laptop, and printer.
USB Cable?
- Try using a different USB port or a different cable.
- Check if it appears under Devices and Printers or Device Manager.
Run HP Smart Setup Again
- Open the HP Smart app on your laptop.
- Click “Add Printer”.
- If the printer doesn’t show up:
- Tap and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
- Then, open HP Smart again and follow the on-screen setup.
Check the Printer’s Wi-Fi Status
- Blue light blinking? → Not connected to Wi-Fi.
- Blue light solid? → Connected to Wi-Fi.
- If it’s not solid, press and hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds to re-initiate Wi-Fi setup mode.
Reinstall HP Smart App
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your laptop.
- Download the latest version from the HP website or Microsoft Store.
- Run the app and try connecting the printer again.
Reset the Printer (if needed)
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
- This resets the wireless settings so you can set it up from scratch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
