Hi @Ct1952,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One printer cannot reconnect to a new modem, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Network Connection
- Ensure that your new modem is powered on and connected to the internet.
- Confirm that other devices (like computers or smartphones) can connect to the network.
Reboot Devices
- Restart your printer, modem, and router to refresh the network connection.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer, go to the Control Panel.
- Navigate to Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Update Printer Firmware
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this via the printer’s control panel or by downloading the latest firmware from the HP website.
Check Printer Settings
- Ensure the printer is set to connect via wireless.
- Go to Network > Network Status to check if it shows connected to the correct network.
Use HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Use the app to set up the printer and reconnect it to your network.
Reset Network Settings
- If all else fails, reset the network settings on the printer:
- Go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard afterward.
Check Firewall Settings
- If you have firewall settings on your modem/router, ensure they are not blocking the printer.
Following these steps should help you reconnect your HP Officejet Pro 8610 to your new modem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
