I can't connect to my printer. The printer is online and with good connection. I've connected my phone to the same network yet I can't find it in the HP Smartapp 🤷 any suggestions?

Hi  @Dfj89

Thanks for sharing the details.

Update the printer firmware to resolve the issue

To resolve the issue, update the firmware to the latest version.

Use the following steps to download the printer firmware from the HP website and update the firmware using the HP Printer Update utility.

Step one: Download the printer firmware from HP website

Learn how to download the latest version of the printer firmware from the HP Support website.

Open a web browser on your computer, and then go to Software and Driver Downloads.

Select Printer.

Enter your printer model, and then click Submit.

To access your printer model directly from the Software and Driver Downloads page, click the appropriate link:

For HP DeskJet 4100e or HP DeskJet Plus 4100 All-in-One Printers:

Go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-plus-4100-all-in-one-series/29378221.

Expand the Printer Firmware section, and then click Download.

Save the file on your computer and note the location of the saved file.

Step two: Connect the printer to Wi-Fi Direct

Learn how to connect your computer to a printer using a direct wireless connection (Wi-Fi Direct).

Print a Printer Information Page to obtain the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

*EDIT:*

So in my SMART APP it says 2208JR but on the paper it's printing, it says 2251D. This is so weird. Also, in my app it looks like it's all out of ink but on the website it's full.

Okay, I'll try this, but I can't do it at the moment as my only Windows PC doesn't have wifi and I can't connect to the IP of the printer.

However the newest firmware update says 2251D while my firmware version says TOP1FN2251DR. Believe it's the same? 😕
