HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w Printer

This printer doesn't seem to hold to the internet all the time. I have to use a USB cable often. Now, our old internet modem crashed and the provider installed a new modem. I cannot get the printer to accept the new password and connect. I've been using my Samsung Note 8 and HP Smart app. We have 3 HP laptops with 2 different OS, 2 Samsung smart phones, a Brother wireless printer and this HP printer. Every other device reconnected seamlessly and this piece of junk just will not reconnect. It will not accept the new password. It acts like it's locked or something. Help!!!

@Tickedoff3, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the wireless network as it does not accept the password.

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
