My internet provider upgraded my modem and now I suspect that my perfectly functional printer might not be able to connect to the new modem. I have tried everything I can think of or find on the internet. Help

Hi @Lynduh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing connectivity issues. I’d like to help!

I understand how frustrating it must be to have your printer not connect after a modem upgrade. Let’s see if we can pinpoint the issue together.

  • Is your new modem using the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password as the previous one, or did it change with the upgrade?
  • Can other devices (e.g., your laptop, smartphone) connect to the new modem without issues?
  • Are you able to see the printer listed in the available Wi-Fi networks on your printer or through the printer's setup utility?
  • Have you attempted to reset the network settings on your printer or performed a network reset?
  • Is the printer connected via Wi-Fi or through an Ethernet cable to the modem?

Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.

Meanwhile, perform the steps from the below documents and see how it goes.
