Hi @Dale0011,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is turned on and no error messages are displayed on its control panel.
- Check if there is enough paper in the paper tray and sufficient ink in the cartridges.
Restart Devices:
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart Computer: Restart your computer to clear any temporary issues.
Verify Connection:
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- USB Connection: If using a USB cable, ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and computer. Try using a different USB port.
Print Queue:
- Open Print Queue: Type Control Panel in the search box and select it. Go to Devices and Printers.
- Printer Queue: Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 and select See what's printing.
- Clear Print Queue: Cancel any pending print jobs in the print queue.
Set Printer as Default:
- Control Panel: In Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers.
- Default Printer: Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 and select Set as default printer.
Check for Errors:
- HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app and check for any error messages or maintenance alerts.
Driver Reinstallation:
- Device Manager: Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Device Manager.
- Uninstall Driver: Expand Print queues, right-click on your printer driver, and select Uninstall device.
- Restart Computer: Restart your computer.
- HP Drivers: Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
Network Configuration:
- Check Wi-Fi Connectivity: Ensure your printer is correctly connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- IP Address: Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel and verify the printer’s IP address. Use this IP address to set up the printer in HP Smart or manually add the printer using the IP address in Windows.
I hope this helps.
