Hi @BillyRoark,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reconnect your HP 2540 printer to your HP laptop after switching internet providers, follow these steps.

Ensure Printer and Laptop are on the Same Network:

  • Make sure both your HP 2540 printer and HP laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Double-check that you are connected to the new ATT air network on both devices.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi Network:

  • On your HP 2540 printer, navigate to the wireless settings or setup menu. This can usually be accessed via the control panel on the printer.
  • Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Update Printer Software:

  • Download and install the latest version of the HP Smart app or HP printer software from the HP website on your HP laptop. This will ensure compatibility with the new network.
  • Open the HP Smart app or HP printer software and follow the instructions to set up the printer.

Add Printer to Laptop:

  • On your HP laptop, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on Add a printer or scanner and select your HP 2540 printer from the list. If it doesn't appear, click on The printer that I want isn't listed, and follow the prompts to manually add the printer.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your HP 2540 printer and your HP laptop to ensure that all network settings are refreshed.

Check Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer's connection. You may need to adjust the settings or temporarily disable the firewall to test the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
