Can't scan to email, Google changed username/password and less secure apps

As of yesterday, May 30th 2022, Google decided to remove 'allow less secure apps' from their security settings. This is a major problem for the Pagewide 577dw that I am using at my office as we can now no longer use the 'scan to email' feature as google now prohibits doing such a thing. I have tried using the one time codes that Google now suggests we use instead, but this does not seem to work with the HP smart settings.

Are there any options available to get this working, or are we out of luck until HP decides to get around to this?

HP Smart - Windows

 - Basics -

Add your Sender address (the mail address name you are using to send) to Windows Mail

Open HP Smart

Scan the content > Optionally Edit and Done > select Share

Select the Mailbox icon

Select the "from" address that you had added to Windows Mail

When the mail / message is opened,

Add any recipients

Add your message

and Send
