HP Deskjet 2542 All-in-One Printer

After changing from Spectrum internet/wifi to ATT Fiber network/wifi - I cannot get the HP Deskjet 2542 All-In-One Printer to be connected to the network. . I have tried over and over to get my printer to connect to the network on my own and with help from ATT tech support. I have tried both the HP Smart setup and the setup thru WIndows/settings/printer & scanners/add printer or scanner.  I reset the network settings pushing the Wifi and Cancel buttons before every try.  I changed my computer's network to connect to the 2.4G network instead of the 5G. I also turned off the Active Armor ATT software and disabled my Norton antivirus firewall and auto protect - just in case they were the issue. Results all the same - failure. With HP smart, the system sees the printer and starts the install,  going through the steps - Printer found, Printer configured, then Joining the network and "Getting printer address". It stays there for a long time then shows an error box with "Unable to connect printer to network.  In the middle of the install i did notice that the network connection changed from my network to HP-Setup-6A-Deskjet 2540 series.  In the Event Log, there are multiple entries with the information: Log name: Microsoft-Windows-DeviceSetupManager/Admin Source: DeviceSetupManager, Event id: 131, and message Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{4542E656-1CE2-11EB-952A-F550E4ED04AF}'.   I feel like I have tried everything - any thoughts on how to get this setup - either manually through port setups or a workaround for the install errors? Thanks in advance. Alex

RESOLVED with firmware update

I downloaded and applied the latest Firmware update (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers).

I then connected my computer to the "Guest Network" (the one that is on the 2.4G setting instead of the 5G network).

I disconnected the USB cable, reset the network settings by pushing the Cancel (X) and wi-fi buttons,

I then ran HP smart and selected to add a printer. It worked just fine - first time.

Hope this might work for other people too.
