I am having immense difficulty getting connected to my new printer. I have successfully connected the printer to the wifi. The printer reports the connection is “very good”. My laptop, phone, and printer are on the same wifi. I have already tried connecting using the IP address. The HP Smart App reports the printer as unavailable, and suggest contacting support which is impossible over the phone and when I attempt to chat the webpage comes up as non existent. I have also tried countlessly to follow the HP Smart app which suggest to connect to the wifi of the printer, and then reopen the app. This method is also unsuccessful. The last method is to restart the router, but I am a college student living on campus so the option is not feasible. Please help!

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are unable to connect the printer to the phone, I am glad to assist you.
- Make sure the printer and the iOS device are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.
Reply with the requested information for further assistance.
Cheers.
