@doc612, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I'd be happy to help you resolve this issue where your printer appears offline and cannot connect.
This usually involves a communication gap between your computer and the printer. Let’s go through a few steps to bring your printer back online and connected.
Restart Printer and Devices
Turn off your printer, unplug it from power.
Restart your computer.
After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
Set Printer as Default & Disable Offline Mode
Press Windows + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
Right-click on your printer → Select "Set as Default Printer".
Right-click again → If you see "Use Printer Offline" checked, click it to uncheck.
Now try printing again.
Reconnect the Printer to Network (Wi-Fi Printers)
On the printer control panel, go to Network > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart App: HP Smart
Reinstall the Printer
Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
Click your printer → Remove device.
Restart your computer.
Reinstall via: Official HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
