Please help! Cannot seem to enable wifi direct my laptop will not connect to my printer, I have tried all the things to fix it and nothing is working, please advise before I send it back and get a different product from another brand

It sounds frustrating that Wi-Fi Direct isn't working on your HP 6100e printer, but let's try a few steps to get it enabled:
1. Enable Wi-Fi Direct on Your Printer
- Access the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Wi-Fi Direct settings.
- Enable Wi-Fi Direct to create the printer’s own wireless network.
2. Find Wi-Fi Direct Name & Password
- If your printer has a touchscreen, tap the Wi-Fi Direct icon to view the name and password.
- If it doesn’t, press the Information button to print a report with the details.
3. Connect Your Laptop to the Printer
- Open Wi-Fi settings on your laptop.
- Select the Wi-Fi Direct network (e.g., DIRECT-HP-XXXX).
- Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password printed from the printer.
4. Use HP Smart App for Setup
- Download HP Smart from HP’s official site.
- Open the app and select Advanced Settings to configure Wi-Fi Direct.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Go to HP Support and install the latest firmware update for your printer.
