Hi,

i just bought a MFP 178 NW.
Am trying to connect to my home wifi but there is no wifi wizard.
The settings on page 60 of the manual says:

1 Select the (Menu) > Network > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Settings button on the control panel

After selecting Menu > Network > Wi-Fi, I only have the following options:

1. Wi-Fi Default 2. Wi-Fi Signal 3. Wi-Fi Direct 4. WPS 5. Wi-Fi On/Off 6. Clear Settings 7. Network Conf.
8. Protocol Mgr.

There is no other setting for me to search (wizard) to find existing wifi channels or SSIDs.

How can I find the Wifi Wizard? Thanks!

Hi @ranteo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to find the Wi-Fi wizard on your HP MFP 178 NW printer, you can try the following steps to connect it to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. Ensure that your printer is powered on and in a ready state.
  2. On your computer or mobile device, make sure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you want to connect your printer to.
  3. On the printer's control panel, locate and press the "Wireless" or "Settings" button. This button might have an icon that resembles a wireless signal or a gear.
  4. Use the arrow keys on the printer's control panel to navigate through the menu options. Look for a "Network Setup" or "Wireless Setup" option and select it.
  5. Look for a "Wireless Setup Wizard" or similar option and select it. This wizard will guide you through the process of connecting your printer to a Wi-Fi network.
  6. The printer will start searching for available Wi-Fi networks. Once it displays a list of networks, select your desired network from the list.
  7. If your network is password-protected, enter the Wi-Fi password using the printer's control panel or an on-screen keyboard if available.
  8. After entering the password, select "Connect" or a similar option to establish the connection between your printer and the Wi-Fi network.
  9. Once the connection is established, the printer should display a confirmation message or an indicator that it is now connected to the Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
