Brand new OJP 8139e printer I just bought directly from HP. Cannot connect to wifi, cannot request support because HP.com does not recognize serial number. I was able to add registration but device does not appear on my list. Neither HP App nor HP software can detect printer. I cannot find a phone number to call for help or a chat with tech support. AI assistant does not help. Should I just go and buy another brand with easier support options?

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Try to connect printer to the wireless network using the Control Panel and then use HP app (on Android phone) to setup the printer.
These resources will be useful:

If it still down't connect, try a wireless reset:

Well I still cant figure out why none of the HP support pages accept the valid serial number on my printer. However, I solved the wifi issue.
1. The only way to get the printer to talk to the router is to enter the router connection via the printer embedded web interface. To do that I had to connect it via ethernet first. 2. Then instead of attempting to connect via wireless selecting Connect Via USB which allows me to download and install the printer software. That now allows HP Smart to see the printer. 3. Then I managed to access the printer network settings through the web interface and establish the wifi as a custom connection just so i can enter the router ssid and password. 4. Then I remove the ethernet cable and save the connection. The specific step order might not be correct as i had to do this several times and wait for the printer to respond. Voila the wifi connection remained. Added the printer on a second PC which was able to find the printer via wifi. I find the actual printer drivers and software a better option than HP smart. HP Smart says it cant install printers just yet. I went to 123.hp.com to get the software via the USB connection step.
