Here are a few steps to help troubleshoot the issue:
Restart Devices
- Turn off your printer, phone, and Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on. This often helps refresh the connection.
Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Make sure your phone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (sometimes phones connect to a 5GHz network while printers prefer 2.4GHz).
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone — if you don’t have it, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button (or Wireless button) until it starts flashing.
- Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
Clear and Reset the Connection (if the above steps don’t work)
- Forget the printer from your phone’s Bluetooth/Wi-Fi list.
- Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app.
- Try setting it up again from scratch using the app.
