The printer used in our office, an Office-jet 9025e, had been working normally, connected wireless. But a few days ago, a contractor working nearby cut the connection feed line to the office modem. That was repaired, and connection restored, but then it was discovered that the printer would no longer connect to the network Apparently, the connection details (network name and password) were corrupted and/or erased. I have read a number of past posts on ways to remedy this, but each time, I end up with a page wanting the administrative, setup password, created when the printer was first installed. That was several years ago, and the office personnel at that time are no longer in the area, nor available to contact. There were no notes left proving the password used. How can the printer be reset so that the wireless details can be updated & the printer be put back in service. If a new password must be created, how can the original, unknown, password be cleared so that corrections can be made.

I had intended to try the most recent suggestions Wednesday morning. However, when my partner got to the office, the printer was displaying an error message, "Have you recently changed wireless settings?" Our settings gad not actually changed, but somehow the printer had lost the connection details after the network line cut and restored a few days earlier. So, she said "yes" and the printer displayed a form where she could enter the current wireless details. Note that somehow, it did this overnight without any action taken by us.
After entering the details, the printer connected, and normal functions were restored.
I had tried to enter this response over the past two days, but always got a server connection error when trying to log in.

Hi @hiegtx,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer to the network.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi Irwin6
I will try using the Smart App as suggested, either later today or in the morning. Will deleting, then reinstalling Smart App bypass that obstacle?er today, or tomorrow. However, that app was not being used in the office.
However, at no time did the printer go into Wireless Setup mode. Trying to get into that mode, via several procedures found online using a Google search, always ran into the same "administrative password required" roadblock.
