My HP Envy Photo 7155 has lost its wi-fi connection, but I can't access the menu on the printer because I am getting the "cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in Instant Ink." I am enrolled in Instant Ink, but the printer doesn't know it because of the aforementioned lost wi-fi connection, which I can't solve because I can't get to the menu on the printer to do the steps that all the help topics are telling me to do. Does anyone know how to break out of this catch-22?

Hi @chaswilder,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That’s a tricky situation! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you break out of this catch-22.
Restart Everything:
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait a minute, then turn it back on.
- Router: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
Check Your Instant Ink Enrollment:
- Log into your HP Instant Ink account online to make sure your enrollment is active and there are no issues with your account.
Manually Connect to Wi-Fi:
- If your printer supports direct Wi-Fi setup, you might be able to bypass the menu by using HP’s Wireless Direct feature:
- Enable Wireless Direct: On the printer, look for a button or menu option that enables Wi-Fi Direct or Wireless Direct (this may vary based on your model).
- Connect from Your Device: Connect your computer or mobile device to the printer’s temporary Wi-Fi network.
- Print Setup Page: From the device connected to the printer, try printing a setup page or configuration report to check for Wi-Fi settings.
Reset Network Settings:
- If you can access the printer’s control panel via a connected device, try resetting the network settings to default and reconnecting to your Wi-Fi.
Use the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Try to set up or reconnect your printer through the app, which might bypass the need to use the printer’s menu directly.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help you regain access to your printer’s menu and fix the Wi-Fi issue!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
