Hi @RobLjr,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand you’re trying to change the IP address on your HP 8350 printer, but it is password protected. Let’s go through some steps you can try.
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Open a browser and type the current IP address of the printer into the address bar.
If it prompts for a username and password, you’ll need the administrator credentials (these may have been set by the network admin or whoever configured the printer initially).
Check Default Login Credentials
Some HP printers default to a blank username and password, or “admin” for the username and a blank password.
If that doesn’t work, the password may have been set by your IT team.
Change IP via Printer Control Panel
On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP Settings.
If password protected, it will still require the admin password to make changes.
Reset Network Settings
If you don’t have the password, you can restore the printer’s network settings to default.
On most models: go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
This removes any password protecting the network configuration (but does not erase other printer settings).
Factory Reset (if needed)
If network defaults don’t work, you may need a semi-full reset or factory reset from the printer’s service menu.
This will erase all settings, including passwords, and let you configure a new IP.
Be aware you’ll lose any custom configurations (wireless settings, saved faxes, etc.).
I hope this helps.
