HP LaserJet M110we Printer

The printer says:

Check your account. A problem has occurred with your HP account and you will be unable to print very soon unless the issue is resolved. To learn more, open the HP Smart app or visit www.hpsmart.com and sign in to your account.

I tried logging into the web UI using the IP address of the printer, I can't access any of the tabs like "HP web services" because it prompts me for a password and I don't know what that is (I searched for common HP printer passwords but none of them work in my web UI).

Why on earth would you allow a printer to be bricked like this without considering the consequences to your customers?

I think this might be the last HP printer that I'll ever purchase.

@SA14882, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Smart!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

This issue is related to HP’s account-based printing restrictions, likely tied to HP+ or Instant Ink services. Here’s what you can do to resolve it:

Sign in to Your HP Account

  1. Go to www.hpsmart.com and sign in.
  2. Check if there are any pending updates, subscription issues (Instant Ink), or account verification requests.
  3. If prompted, complete any required steps.

Reset Your Printer’s Password (If Locked Out of Web UI)

If your printer's web interface is asking for a password, try these:

  • Default passwords: Check for a label on the printer with login credentials.
  • Try the printer PIN: Some HP printers use a PIN found on a sticker inside the printer (often near the ink cartridges or on the back).
  • Reset the password:
    1. Open the HP Smart app (on mobile or PC).
    2. Navigate to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings.
    3. Find the Administrator password reset option.

Factory Reset the Printer (If Locked Out)

If you still can’t access the settings:

  1. Power off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  2. Press and hold Wi-Fi + Cancel (or Wi-Fi + Back) while turning it on.
  3. Release the buttons when the printer enters Reset Mode.
  4. Reconnect to Wi-Fi and try logging in again.

Disable HP+ (If Applicable)

If your printer is enrolled in HP+ or Instant Ink, it requires an active HP account to function fully. If you wish to opt out:

  1. Cancel Instant Ink from the HP Smart account.
  2. Disable HP+ (if possible) by resetting to factory settings and skipping HP+ activation.

Let me know if this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
