HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

I've had my Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw for a few years, without any issues, until about a year ago, the printer routinely goes offline and cannot be seen from my Windows 10 computer.

There have been no changes to any devices (router, computer, cables), software, or network configuration in that time; and no other devices in my house, or applications on my computer have any trouble related to network.  It's only the HP Printer showing as "Offline" in the Print Manager window, with print jobs just queing up with no action.

One time, I was able to fix this by installing the latest print driver:

HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 64 bit.

But on the latest occurrence, nothing works, including:
* Re-updating that driver to the latest
* Reboot computer
* Cycle power on printer
* Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
* Run HP Scan app
* Search for printer from Add Devices -> Printers

This problem has happened several times, and it seems to come and go, as if the printer is just flakey.  It's out of warrantee, so I'm wondering if HP printers just turn to junk after 2-3 years?  Or is there another explanation?

I think they just junk after about 2-3 years, has happened to me previously, they work great at first. Interesting for me it is just the Printer part is offline, the scanner connects from my computer fine.
