macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi,

I want to setup wireless printing on an LaserJet p1102w, running Mac OS Montery (12.1). I am able to install and use the printer using the USB cable. All drivers are installed, as I can use all functions (with USB cable). I restored the system preferences of the printer already (powering off, powering on and holding the two buttons for 10 secs etc.).

I still have the CD to install the printer, but I can't use CD's anymore with my computers.

I want to setup the printer's wifi option, in order to print without the cable. The printer should be shared in the network. The problem is that the printer doesn't connect to the home WiFi.

What I did: I went to Settings --> Printers & Scanners --> Clicked on the Printer (that is installed already through USB) --> Options & Supplies --> Utility --> Open Printer Utility --> HTML Config

I am directed to: http://localhost:5050/SSI/index.htm Under "Networking" and "Wireless" I find that the "Current SSID" is "HP07DFBE".

If I click on "Communication Mode" on "Infrastructure", I find my personal WiFi listed, I call it here: "WiFiPersonal". I can move "WiFiPersonal" with "<<" and click on "Apply". I get the message: "Changes have been made successfully. Press the OK button to return to Configuration." I lose connection, but cmd+r and sending information again show the HTML config site of the printer again, and the "Current SSID" is now "WiFiPersonal".

Bonjour is switched on. The name is: "HP LaserJet Professional P1102w". The Bonjour Domain Name is: "NPI07DFBE.local."

However, the blue light on the printer is still blinking, and not permanently blue. I'm never asked to provide the password to "WiFiPersonal" (and don't find this option). And, under the Mac Printer settings, I cannot find the printer via "+" and "bonjour". HP Easy Smart also doesn't find the printer.

Where's my mistake? I found some tutorials describing this way, but the final one – adding the printer via WiFi to my printers – doesn't work, as it is not found.

Thank you in advance for all of you who think about my problem.

Kind regards

damossb

Hi,

You have missed the option there, the Security settings are right below when you select the WiFi SSID within the HTML Config Utility

From there double-click your network name to add it to the Current Network Name field, select the Security Authentication type of your router and enter the network pass-phrase (Figure 2), and then click Apply.

Thank you! This was exactly what I've missed. It worked out now very well, the printer directly connected to the WiFi and I was then able to add it via Bonjour.

I am having the same problem. However I accidentally deleted the IPv4 , IP subnet and IP Default Gateway from my printer.

When I add my network and passphrase it gives me this.7BA71796-9336-4D8A-969F-7732329D64AC.jpeg

Hi @SlayByK

Please unplug the USB cable and restart the Mac.

Next. restore the Wireless Defaults of the printer as following:

Now plug back the USB cable and access the HTML Config Utility once again, then check for any difference.

I have a related problem as I have managed to fill in all the necessary information, but when klicking the final "Apply" I get the message that the localhost couldn't send the information. As a result the Printer setup still can't find the printer. Any ideas?
