Hi @BobC0728
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP Smart Tank 5000 printer to a wireless network, follow these steps. This process will use your printer's control panel and the HP Smart app to get the printer connected to your Wi-Fi.
Option 1: Using the Control Panel on the Printer
Turn on the printer if it's not already on.
Access the printer's control panel:
- On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon or Settings icon (usually represented by a wrench or gear symbol).
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard from the menu (this option may be labeled differently depending on your printer model).
Select your wireless network:
- The printer will search for available networks and display a list of Wi-Fi networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
Enter your Wi-Fi password:
- Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your Wi-Fi password.
- After entering the password, tap OK or connect to confirm.
Complete the setup:
- Once the printer connects to the network, it may prompt you to print a network configuration page to confirm the connection.
Option 2: Using the HP Smart App (on your phone or computer)
If you're having trouble with the printer's control panel or prefer a mobile setup, you can use the HP Smart app to set up your wireless connection.
Download the HP Smart App:
- If you don't already have it, download the HP Smart app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). You can also download it to your computer from HP's website.
Open the HP Smart app:
- Launch the app on your phone, tablet, or computer.
- Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want to connect your printer to.
Add your printer:
- In the HP Smart app, click on the + sign to add a printer.
- The app should detect your printer automatically if it’s powered on and in setup mode. If not, you can manually enter the printer's details.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
