Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a HP5222 printer which can connect either by USB or wireless. I would like to connect it to my ethernet (RJ45) network. Can I buy an adapter to go from USB-B to Ethernet and it would work? I have multiple printers that I would like to do connect to my wired network. Are there better solutions?

HP does not recommend this type of connectivity or has tested it.

You may try it at your own discretion.

 Connect the printer to the network

Connect the Ethernet cable to the printer and to the router, switch, or hub so that the printer is found during the installation.

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Remove any plug or protective cover from the Ethernet port  on the rear of the printer.

  3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the printer and an available port on the router.
