@sylvie423, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.
I’ll guide you through the steps to connect your HP wireless printer to your Wi-Fi network. Please follow the method that matches your printer type:
Method 1: Using HP Smart App/HP App (Recommended for most HP printers)
Download HP Smart:HP Smart
Open HP Smart and click “Set up a new printer”.
Turn on your printer and make sure it’s in Wi-Fi setup mode:
- For most printers, press and hold the Wireless button until the light starts blinking.
- Alternatively, restore network settings by pressing Wireless + Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
HP Smart will detect the printer and guide you through connecting it to your Wi-Fi.
Method 2: Using Printer Control Panel (for printers with display screens)
On the printer’s screen, go to:
- Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.
Once connected, the wireless light should stop blinking and remain solid.
Method 3: Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
If your router supports WPS:
Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
The printer should connect automatically.
Verify Connection
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to confirm it's connected.
- You can also check the printer’s IP address and try accessing it via a browser.
