Hi @barb2911,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP printer to Wi-Fi, follow these steps based on your printer type.

Using HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download & Install HP Smart
    • On your phone or PC, install the HP Smart app from the HP website or your app store.
  2. Connect Your Printer to Wi-Fi
    • Open HP Smart and click "Set up a new printer."
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Using Printer’s Control Panel

For Touchscreen Printers:

  1. Go to the Wireless Setup Menu
    • On your printer, tap Setup > Network/Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select Your Wi-Fi Network
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and enter the Wi-Fi password.
  3. Confirm & Connect
    • Press OK and wait for the connection to complete.

For Printers Without a Touchscreen:

Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until it starts flashing.
  • Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  • Wait for the connection to complete.

Use HP Smart App or USB Setup

  • If WPS is not available, connect the printer to a PC via USB and use HP Smart to set up Wi-Fi.

Verify Connection

  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s Setup > Reports menu.
  • Ensure your printer and PC/phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
