Hi, I am trying to connect my printer to my LAN using the USB port and a USB cable fitted with an RJ45 adapter. Using Scan and Print doctor the printer is visible but fails to connect. I do not need to use the WiFi connectivity as my office is out of range with the Router. Suggestions / solutions? appreciated.

Hi,
You cannot install the printer with such an adapter, the HP Software is designed to allow a USB or Wireless connection only.
If you cannot connect it to the wireless network, you may connect it with a USB to a computer, or get a Lan-enabled printer model, there are many Officejet and Laserjet models to support such connectivity, not Deskjet printers.
