Hi @Trice161,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP DeskJet 2820e printer is showing an error (EBS00P0013) and flashing lights when trying to connect to Wi-Fi. Let’s go step-by-step to fix it.
a. Reset Network Settings on the Printer
Make sure the printer is powered on.
Press and hold Wi-Fi button + Cancel (X) button together for 5 seconds.
This will restore the printer’s Wi-Fi settings to default (lights may blink briefly).
b. Restart Devices
Turn off your printer, Wi-Fi router, and phone/computer.
Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the router first, followed by the printer and your device.
c. Reconnect Using HP Smart App (Important: Use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi)
Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
Tap “+” to Add a New Printer → select your HP 2820e.
Follow the on-screen process to connect.
Make sure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, not 5 GHz or mobile hotspot.
d. Manually Put Printer in Setup Mode (if not detected)
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
On the HP Smart app, tap “Set up a new printer” and follow the instructions.
e. Check Wi-Fi Password & Router Settings
Ensure the Wi-Fi password is correct (case-sensitive).
Disable MAC address filtering, Access Control, or Guest Network on your router if turned on.
Make sure the router is not blocking new devices.
f. If Error Persists – Perform a Full Reset (Semi-Reset)
Turn the printer off.
Hold down the Cancel (X) and Information (i) buttons.
While holding, press the Power button to turn on the printer.
Release all buttons when the printer powers up. This resets internal settings.
Reconnect using the HP Smart app again.
I hope this helps.
