My wifi was down for 2 weeks so my printer lost the connection. I can't seem to get it to connect back. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer loses its Wi-Fi connection after an outage. Let’s walk through the steps to get your printer reconnected to your wireless network.

Option 1: Use the HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download or open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. HP Smart
  2. Turn on the printer and make sure it’s in Wi-Fi setup mode:
    • If your printer has a touchscreen, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
    • If it doesn’t have a screen, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together until the power light blinks.
  3. In the HP Smart app, tap “+” to add a new printer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Option 2: Use the Printer’s Control Panel (if it has a screen)

  1. On the printer, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard.
  4. Wait for the printer to confirm it’s connected.

Option 3: Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

If your router supports WPS:

  1. Press the WPS button on your router.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until it starts blinking.
  3. The printer should automatically connect to the network.
