I can't believe I am having such a hard time with this, but how do I connect this printer to the internet? It is insane how many hours it has taken me to figure this out! What is the trick??? It's a HP Envy 6055

Welcome to the HP Community --
There are actually two separate parts to the connection setup:
- Connect the printer to your network in your home or office
- Connect the printer to the Internet using Web Services
Connect the printer to your network first -
What?
Sample standard network: Your home network is controlled by your router.
Your router is configured to connect to your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
ISP might be (for example) Xfinity, AT&T, or other major carrier.
Your router supports connecting your devices -- computer(s), printer(s), tablet(s), and phone(s) - so you can go out and "do things" on the Internet - for example, surf, shop, download files, get software and apps.

Next,
After the standard network connection is working,
Connect the printer to Web Services
Web Services connects the printer to "Web" stuff that the printer might need to access some of the printer and application's features.
================== =====================
Web Services
Web Services is used to connect the printer to the Internet in general with the added "bonus" of having to connect to HP Services at the end of that journey. Web Services then recognizes the printer and hands it to whatever service is "next". For example, Web Services might hand your printer to ePrint, Instant Ink, or certain Cloud services.
