Hi @tcfly,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, it is possible that your printer is still connected to your old router or hub if it hasn’t been updated to connect to your new network. Here’s how you can set up your printer on the new hub:

**1. Reset Printer Network Settings

  • Access Network Settings: Depending on your printer model, you might need to access the network settings via the printer’s control panel or touchscreen.
  • Reset Network Settings: Look for an option to restore network settings to factory defaults. This will clear the old network settings and prepare the printer for a new network.

**2. Connect the Printer to the New Network

Using the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • Turn On Printer: Ensure the printer is powered on.
  • Access Wireless Menu:
    • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings menu. This may be under Setup, Network, or Wireless.
  • Run Wireless Setup Wizard:
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option. This will initiate a search for available networks.
  • Select Your New Network:
    • From the list of available networks, choose your new network (SSID).
    • Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Using the HP Smart App:

  • Install HP Smart App:
    • Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or your device’s app store.
  • Add Printer:
    • Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer. The app should detect your printer if it is on the same network.
  • Follow Setup Instructions:
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the new network.

**3. Update Printer Drivers on Your Computer

  • Download Latest Drivers:
    • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Run the Installer:
    • Follow the installation instructions, and when prompted, choose the option to connect the printer to the network. The installer should guide you through the process of connecting the printer to your new network.

**4. Print a Network Configuration Page (if available)

  • Check Network Status:
    • Many printers have an option to print a network configuration or status page, which can show details about the current network connection. This can be useful to confirm whether the printer is still connected to the old network.

**5. Reconnect Devices

  • Ensure All Devices Are on the Same Network:
    • Make sure that your computer, smartphone, or tablet is also connected to the same new Wi-Fi network as your printer.

**6. Troubleshoot Connection Issues

  • Restart Devices:
    • Power cycle your printer, router, and computer. Sometimes restarting these devices can resolve connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
